Mother’s Day is a beautiful time of celebration—but for many, it is also a reminder that life is rarely neat, predictable, or perfect. Behind every smiling family photo is a story filled with late nights, difficult prayers, unanswered questions, and moments of deep dependence on God. The truth is, faith is not formed in ideal conditions. It is forged in the middle of real, messy life.
The Apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” That is not just a comforting verse—it is a life-shaping truth. In the moments when you feel stretched thin, uncertain, or overwhelmed, you are not disqualified from God’s work. You are positioned for it.
So often, we believe the lie that we need to have everything together before God can use us. But Scripture tells a different story. God has an amazing ability to bring messages out of our mess. Faith is built in kitchens and car rides, in hospital rooms and at bedtime prayers, in ordinary conversations and quiet sacrifices.
Paul’s words to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:5 paint a powerful picture of generational faith: “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice…” Their lives were not flawless, but their faith was faithful. They passed down something far more valuable than perfection—they passed down a genuine trust in God.
That same opportunity stands before each of us. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, mentor, or spiritual friend, God invites you to pour into others—not from a place of having it all figured out, but from a place of sincerity and dependence on Him.
We hope to see you this Sunday on Mother’s Day as we gather to thank God for the Mother-figures that have poured into our lives and as we pray to be the kind of people who can pour into the lives of others. We will have photo spots set up before and after both the 8:45 and 11 AM services where you can get your pictures taken.
